All Gleaming and New

At last the floors are done and they look stunning. The only thing we are waiting for are for the skirting boards to be fitted. These are the same skirting boards, our wonderful ex-builder Rudi was going to fit, almost 2 years ago and have been lying in our passage, waiting for our fairy godmother to fit them.

All our furniture is still stored outside. As you can see by this photo, this is where we eat dinner - on the floor - with Mickey guarding us. and everything else from watching TV and doing homework, is done on the bed.
Before we move anything back in the house, we need to get protectors to put on the feet of all the furniture to protect our new sparkling floor. The other major problem of course is manpower, although I could ask Chris, he and James are bushed by the end of the day.

As an example they go to school tomorrow at 7am, leave school early at 2.15 to attend a gala which ends at 5pm, then off to waterpolo from 6 - 7pm and then somewhere in between that they are supposed to study for the upcoming exams, have dinner and bath - hmm?????? I am trying to persuade the kids not to go to waterpolo, but they are adamant they want to go.

Jess our beautiful mommy kitty is growing daily, she is just so cute and has become even more lovable than usual. As for Mickey, the shortwire circuits in her brain are working overtime, she charges around like a lunatic ALL DAY! At about 5.30 am we all take cover as that is when she dive bombs our toes and heads.

Gran is off to have her other eye operated on tomorrow - i.e. have her cataract removed, unfortunately she has to travel with us early tomorrow morning so that I can drop her at the hospital. Its amazing with kids its grommets that are the quick in and outs, then with retired persons its cataracts.
Spent yesterday helping Chris set up his study timetable for exams that are starting on 21 November, just over 2 weeks away.
Roll on Christmas so we can all take a break.
