Catch UP

My goodness its a long time since I updated this with any real significant news, well brace yourselves, this is a long one, although with the heat at the moment maybe not.

I have just come back from taking James to rugby practice - yes can you believe we've started that already and its only half way through the 1st term - one of the dads has kindly offered to give the kids some extra coaching for free. Sitting in car in the shade waiting for him it registered 35 degrees outside - OUCH!!

Friday and Saturday were spent at waterpolo tournament with Chris, poor old James has to tag along as well. This tournament is to determine the top Western Province School in Cape Town and the team Chris plays with - Reddam House - looks set to win this. They have an excellent coach albeit a bit hectic at times. Chris is the reserve for the team, as the team have been playing together for the past 3 years, but all the parents keep assuring me that he must stay positive and that he will get more game time, as soon as he has learnt all the rules and gotten fit. They don't seem to understand that we are thrilled that he is even part of the team, let alone getting game time in the odd chukka against a week team. Their biggest thing if fitness and they put in 5 and half hours of training a week. Friday night after waterpolo we had to fetch Rob from the airport and only got home at 23h45 and had to be back at Bishops by 07.30 for more waterpolo.

One good thing about waterpolo is that you are unlikely to get concussion or broken spines etc, the other injuries can heal - like Chris's eye that got a finger in it.James has been growing beans, a project that I think every single one of us did at school as well, I can’t get over how quickly it grew, he took it to school to show his teacher and its apparently still one of the largest ones there.

Last weekend we flew up to Jhb to visit Rob, he was taking the boys to see the A1 Grand Prix and it worked out cheaper for me to fly them up to Jhb on Mango Airlines than it was to send them unaccompanied minors on SAA - the problem was cancelling swimming on Friday and organising the boys out of school for 2 days (as you can imagine they didn't mind) a great weekend was had by all The kids got to see dad and their cousins and I got to do nothing. The most stressful part of the weekend was getting the kids out of the pool when the thunder and lighting started.
The kids enjoyed the racing and time with dad and particularly loved flying, James was so excited and wanted to know if there is a ramp at the end of the run way that launches the plane into the sky . . .

And now for the shocker!! We think Jess is pregnant again, in fact we are 100% sure, yes we know, dreadful parents we are but no turning back now.
To top the last week off, the Renault has had something somewhere int he engine seize, thank goodness Rob was driving as you can all just imagine how it would have been my fault if I was driving and my pool pump started leaking, fortunately the pool pump merely need a sand in the filter changed, but the Renault is going to be a little more complicated than that.
Tomorrow morning Rob goes to the airport, and I have to take him, but prior to that we have to take the Renault to the car repair place, then after I have dropped him, race back to get the kids to school - not sure when I am going to find the time to make their school lunch, then back to the car place which will be open to hand them the keys and explain what to do, then off to work for my morning job, then back home, and dive into the pool for swimming, then dive out and race off to Reddam to collect Chris, then home to make dinner and start homework then crash into bed.
