update

Shew! Last time I sat and did this was on easter weekend, well lots has happened since then . . .

First Jess our clever mommy cat has had her 3 more babies, 2 more ginger cats and a mixed bag runt of the litter. The 2 gingers have already got new homes, one went to Christopher's girlfriend (of can you believe it 9 months), Gill and the other to our old neighbours and very good friends, Doug and Tracey. Gran has as usual stepped up to her role of great great granny to the kittens.

The last little one, christened Patches by James is still here, but is leaving for Jhb next week to go to his new home - no names mentioned.
Jeez Cape Town had the most unbelievable thunder and lightening storm I have ever known last Thursday, the sky was lit up with amazing displays of lightening, yet it was warm and still outside, kind of freaky. The poor animals went crazy, they were completely freaked out.

We spent the morning at Rugby from 7am - 12 watch firstly Chris at Pinelands and then James at Rondebosch, both teams played supurbly and won their matches.

Chris has started with his study timetable and James is waiting to get his from school. I can't believe we are heading for exams and then holidays again.
Rob is off to Ethiopia tomorrow, has just come back from Kenya and the week before that was in Nigeria.

My dad is still struggling to settle down at the home that he's at, and remains very confused about life in general. It has placed a tremendous strain on my poor mom, but she is coping supurbly as she always does through life.

Swimming is has dropped off dramatically for the winter months, which is great for my time keeping, but not so great for the cash flow, but we persevere through.

Gran and Nana are getting ready for their trip overseas, can't believe both my support systems are leaving me (hee hee), am going to have to abuse my other friends now. They are both leaving on James' birthday on the 11th June.

I have become very involved with a safe house for abused and abondoned children and trying to assist them with finding a new house for their safe house. The children there are beautiful and so full of love, but one in particular has crawled into my heart and the heart of the boys and all they want to do is adopt her. She is now 2 and half and was found a year ago crawling along the N2 near Grabouw, hence her nickname of 'apple trapper' [said with an afrikaans accent]. She is adorable and desperately needs to find foster parents, or else she is going to be transferred to an orphanage, its heart wrenching to think that could happen. I have set up a simple blogsite for them as well http://www.miraclekids.blogspot.com/ and a facebook group.

Our neighourhood watch office has now moved to new premises, so had to pack up the old office and move all furniture and files etc, but we had been storing the Austin Healey Sprite in the garage of the old office. The office is now being converted so we had to move the car to our friends Tracey and Wayne who have a spare driveway we can park it in. The problem is the car had not been started for more than a year and it took us more than 2 hours to get it started. Finally we remember our membership to the AA and phoned them. 2 minutes later the car was running - what a waste of a Saturday afternoon, particularly since we could all do with some sleep since we were out till about 1am this morning doing neighbourhood watch patrols.

Rob is enjoying his patrolling so much that he is now going to sign up to become a police reservists. It is our friend Tony's fault, as he and Rob love going out patrolling together.

We recently went to Tony and Hilary's 50th birthday's and 25 wedding anniversary party all combined into one. Was an excellent evening, here are some photo's from it.

Tonight we are off Lynn to play some poker and have dinner, should be good fun.
